In November 2006, Cobalt Design’s UK-based Design Development Manager Shannon Smith visited the Medica trade fair, held at the Messe Düsseldorf exhibition buildings, Germany. With over 130 000 visitors, and 4000 exhibitors in 17 halls, Medica is the world’s largest medical technology forum.
Cobalt’s products featured on a number of stands, including Equipmed’s V-Patch wireless cardiac monitoring device; a product worn on the body to monitor the patient’s vital signs. As it is wireless, it also suits use outside of hospital environments where convenient and constant monitoring is necessary.
Also revealed at the show was Belfast company Heartsine’s latest portable defibrillator, the dPAD, which further strengthens its position as a progressive market leader in the field.
The new dPAD unit brings defibrillation into the home. Quick and easy to operate, it will no doubt save countless lives and bring peace of mind to many others…
